Testing – Design or Follow Customer-Directed Testing

Production testing and diagnostic testing are services that Patriot American Solutions provides.  Multi-unit testing utilizing switching and umbilical cables are used to increase throughput.  Output wave patterns for specific inputs are production measurements that we are able to provide.

For New Product Introduction and RMAs, we can assist in the early phases of the design with in-circuit diagnostics to measure passive component performance of First Articles.

In addition, mechanical test fixturing is often reuired.  PAS has a machine shop to design and build such fixtures.

For Surface Mount Technology (SMT), we have automatic solder past inspection (SPI) to check volume and geometrics of the solder paste pad pattern of the screen printer onto the bare printed circuit board.  Approximately 65% of SMT defects are related to solder paste printing and solder joint formation.  Effective and thorough paste inspection immediately after screen-printing is essential for a high-quality process.  PAS uese Universal Instruments’ pick and place machines that have built-in testing and feedback loops to make fine adjustments as the line is running.  Final Automatic Optical Inspection is done after the reflow oven to check for component placement, solder shorts, missing solder, polarity, and value errors.  This inspection process is no-touch.

X-Rays through our new equipment are taken to validate the placement and soldering of bump grid arrays (BGAs) and fine pitch components.  Should an error be detected, we also have the capability to repair or re-ball BGA units.
